About Me

Who am I? Well, for starters, I am Kate Cardon Parish, a top-notch mom, writer, advocate, and deadline performer. Before children, I ascended in the corporate world as a communication maverick. I excelled at developing written and visual communication tools used to grow business at a credit union in Ann Arbor and then at a global offshore software development company. I loved this life. It afforded me opportunity to learn, meet talented and vibrant professionals, and to travel to many urban landscapes. My communication experience helped my husband build a small business.

Today, I am proud to annex work-at-home-mom to my resume. Additionally, I am a classroom volunteer and an advocate for Kids on the Go, a non-profit in metro Detroit that provides tuition-free physical, occupational and speech therapies during the summer to local children with special needs.

18 years of success include diverse written, visual and marketing communication expertise. Skills include on- and offline publishing, copy writing, editing, publication design, proposal writing, sales presentations, project management, research and interviewing. Additionally, I am a master at creativity, negotiation, calming strategies, problem-solving, time management, multi-tasking, discipline, communication, and patience. My work ethic, commitment and passion are resilient; and I have unlimited energy and agility.

Why holistic fitness commentary? Writing is therapy I use for managing parental stress. Both of my children have developmental delays with their fine and gross motor skills. Also, my daughter has Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). A consistent, balanced holistic fitness regimen is a necessary component to their intervention plan. Treatment sessions with physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, speech pathologists, teachers, and social workers helped me learn more about how fitness impacts core strength, muscle tone, strength, agility, balance, mood, and concentration.
